Features to know about

Stop the Sag and Squat: 8,000-lb Rear Axle Support

When the bed or hitch is loaded down, rear-end sag affects steering, braking, and headlight aim. This system adds 8,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity with hollow rubber springs that mount above the axle. As weight increases, the springs get stiffer to keep the vehicle level and stable. The factory suspension still moves freely on light loads, but when you pile on weight from gear or equipment, these springs step in to hold things steady.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Hollow Rubber Springs That Absorb Shock

Heavy loads don’t have to mean a harsh ride. The Aeon hollow rubber design cushions bumps and rough pavement by taking the brunt of the road shock. Each spring absorbs vibration before it reaches the cab, improving ride comfort and reducing wear on factory leaf springs. The material’s elasticity gives more travel than microcellular urethane alternatives, so even under load the ride stays composed instead of jarring.

Control Sway and Off-Center Loads: Independent Side-to-Side Support

Uneven cargo or a quick swerve can throw a truck off balance. Each Timbren spring works on its own side of the axle, automatically engaging only when needed. This independent action helps compensate for off-center loads and cuts down on body roll when cornering. With both sides reacting separately, the truck stays flatter through turns and more stable in crosswinds or when a trailer begins to move around behind you.

Install It Once and Haul with Confidence: Simple Bolt-On Setup

Adding serious rear support doesn’t need air lines or adjustments. Custom brackets bolt directly to the frame—no drilling required—and hardware comes included. Once installed, there’s nothing to maintain or inflate; the springs engage when loaded and stay clear when empty. It’s a straightforward way to improve stability, reduce squat, and protect your suspension over years of towing or hauling heavy gear.

Happy to hear that, Jon! The Timbrens really get the job done in the right application. What are you towing?

by:

This is a fool proof, and almost fail proof way to help my F450 truck handle the 4200+ lbs camper in the bed of my truck at a fraction of the cost of airbags. And the install is also super easy. Took me 5min in my driveway to install. They help reduce swaying with the monster camper in the bed.

Wow, now that is a setup. That Arctic Fox on the F-450 with the trailer behind it looks like you’re ready for just about anything. That’s a serious amount of weight in the bed, so hearing that it tightened things up and cut down the sway without going the airbag route is awesome. And a five minute install in the driveway is about as good as it gets. Where are you headed next?

by:

easy install and does exactly what I needed.
love
the peaple at Etrailer

by:

Very simple to remove and install. I took all of 15 minutes without even removing the wheels

by:

These are great, put 1500 # of bagged concrete in truck
They just were touching the stop bar, stability was what I expected
Can’t wait to our RV hooked up and hit the road
Took as long to set up the jack as to install these load stabilizer items

by:

They went in with no problem at all can’t wait to see the difference that they make

by:

Fast delivery. Easy to install.
These
were installed on an F250 (which has the camper package) which carries our truck camper. Although these Will Not increase your GVWR, they certainly enhance the ride comfort and stability (NOTE: ride quality without the camper was not affected). The "squat" is eliminated. No rocking, no porpoising, just much improved stability. Highly recommended.

by:

Very easy to install and works great.

by:

We have an F350 truck camper and even with unrated factory springs is still lad a little low at the back. These absolutely sorted the problem, lifted the rear,
It is little firmer than before but the nose has come down and it rides far better. Great product and easy to fit.

by:

Got to my house when I was told they would. Put these on a 2017 F350 Dually that I turned into a tow truck. Took about 5 minutes to put them on and the truck is completely different when towing. I towed my 2012 F350 before and after and it’s literally a night and day difference. Before, I felt like I was going to skate across the road and now it’s like there’s a little Toyota Camry on the back. I didn’t put the extra inch spacer because I was worried about ride quality, however I think I will in the future just so I feel better. My truck does still squat, however my application is completely different than pulling a normal trailer being that I do have an entire vehicle added directly to my truck’s suspension.Didn’t get any befores of me lifting the exact same vehicles, but it’s definitely different. I probably will add small helper springs later just being that I do constantly have a load as my lift on my truck weighs 1800lbs. alone.

by:

I've purchased your competitors products in the past with good results. I now have a heavier 5th wheel and needed something more robust and still look factory installed. Timbren was the best choice for me.

by:

They may be a great product but they did not work on my 22 f350. Even with the spacers provided they would not make contact with the trucks axle even with a heavy slide in camper. If I am going to keep them I’ll have to make welding modifications to extend the bracket so it will work on my truck model pictures with and without the camper loaded.

I would like to update my review to say that Timbren came through and made my application work by sending me the right parts so my truck doesn’t squat and it handles my truck camper much better. Timbren has great customer service

I see what youre saying here. From the photos, it looks like you have everything set up the way it should be. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride that you are used to.

by:

The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System is great when towing. When the truck is empty the Timbrens produce a jolt when the contact the stop below. With the OEM bump stops, they only contacted the stop under a load, and then it was a gentle stop. The Timbrens have a 1.5 inch gap and any drop or bump, it slams against the stop pretty hard.

by:

Was able to install these with a 15mm flex head ratchet wrench and lifted the rear of the truck to make it easier. 30 minutes to take off 4 nuts and put em back on. 2 minutes assembling the timbrens with the added spacer. I have a f350 with a salter and plow. Loaded with salt the lights shoot up and in the snow ?? it’s like hitting hyper drive and you’re blinded. These helped big time. Very happy so far.

@Michael Great to hear! I also enjoy using these on my truck; helps with the squat when pulling my car hauler :)

Never mess with airbags again on your truck. These Timbren bump stops are the only way to go. Installation took a total of 10 minutes and they work amazing. No messing with airlines, filling or deflating air bags with complicated installation. I’m towing a 44ft trailer and these Timbren bumps stops are a must. Great product but a little pricey for what they are.

After a year of towing some kind of trailer every week, the bump stops are showing some wear from riding on the bump stop pad on the axle. That being said, they are still working as intended and as good as the day I installed them. After a lot of miles, the only draw back is driving around with no trailer. Normal driving the ride isn’t effected but when you hit a bump in the road you really feel it hit the bump stop. You loose a fair amount of rear suspension travel with these but I’m used to it now.

by:

Ended up contacting Timbren to get extra disc to get proper distance to axle housing for my 2022 F350. They sent me 2 free discs. Installing was easy. I've towed my very heavy tongue weighted unit a few times since and have been satisfied with Timbren keeping rear of truck up and level. When not towing, Timbren is off axle housing and regular suspension is used.

Great! After 20,0000 miles, Timbren Still keeps my truck Level and stable towing heavy loads.

by:

Package arrived and pretty beat up from shipping, everything was there except the hardware. I sent etrailer an email and Joy T. replied back quickly, got hardware in the mail and I installed today. Great service and quick response!

by:

The reality of how long it took to install was misrepresented. I am 74 years old and my wife and I installed these bump stops in about a 2 hour span including rest time. We actually expected that. The results were as promised and I truly appreciate that.

by:

It would be helpful if the kit contained all the hardware to attach it to the truck. I purchased this to replace a Loadlifter 5000 that was installed 9 years ago. I don’t have the OEM clip and nuts that goes into the frame. It took hours of searching before I finally figured out I could find it on the Ford suspension schematics.

by:

The Timbrens arrived and install was a breeze. Look to be of very good quality. I went with the severe duty because my truck is always loaded up with camping supplies, electric bikes tools…. The topper on back along with the slide tray are added weight. I pull a 7k travel Trailer with 650-700 pounds on hitch. The Timbrens are barely touching the axel without the trailer. I really enjoy dealing with etrailer. They answer all your questions and always put the customer first. It’s kind of like your project is their project.

So far they have been fine. They are part of my suspension upgrades, along with stable loads and sway bar. I wasnt worried about harder ride when camper off, I wanted best suspension when camper was on. I would definitely recommend them.

Wow, that is exactly what we love to hear about these springs! That is a serious camper. Any plans with it this summer?

by:

I have Timbrens on an F350. We have a heavy truck camper that we use multiple times a year. I've had both these and airbags on multiple rigs over the years and the Timbrens are superior by far especially because they don't leak at the connections, valves or bags or work loose. They also help with the sway.
There is no pump or electrical involved. Airbags have just too many parts and potential points of failure guaranteed to happen away from home on a muddy road. Once Timbres are installed you're done. In this case the less expensive and simpler solution is the better one!

  • How Much Space Is Needed To Install The Timbren TFRTT350J On A 2022 Ford F-250 With An In-Bed Camper
The Timbren TFRTT350J will measure 7" from the top of the bracket to the bottom of the rubber spring/jounce. With you having 8-1/2" of space on your 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty, you will have a 1-1/2" gap between the bottom of the spring/jounce. It is recommended to have anywhere from 1/2" at the minimum up to 1-1/2" at the maximum for this spacing, so it will definitely work for you. Especially once the camper is installed in the bed. With this also having an 8,000 pound load leveling capacity,...

I attached a picture that shows how the Timbren installs relative to the spring pack.

  • How Can I Decrease The Gap Between Timbrens And Axle?
Hello Charles, thanks for reaching out. Yes a 2-1/8" gap is too much. Sounds like you are going to need additional 1" spacers. For that you can use the following: - Timbren 1" Spacer For Raised Frame Vehicles - 3/8" Bushing # A25723-90AH00 Please note that using additional spacers may mean the included bolts are not long enough. In this case you will need to source longer bolts at a local hardware store.

  • Are Timbren Spacers Required for a Leveling Kit on a 2017 Ford F-350
Generally speaking, most leveling kits lift the front of the truck 1-2" to match the rear as the factory ride height on most pickup trucks nowadays is about 2" lower in the front than in the rear. This is usually to compensate for squatting while towing with a trailer. As long as the rear of the truck is not lifted then you will not need to use a spacer when installing the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part # TFRTT350J on your 2017 Ford F-350.
